We wanted a female artist as the third Takeover! guest. My first choice? Cassandra Steen. Full stop. I knew very little about Cassandra at first, being familiar only with her velvet voice and songs of hopeful melancholy from her group, Glashaus. Upon our first meeting, she was visibly moved by the arrangements Max Dommers and I had written for her. It was a lovely, contemplative, and emotional Takeover! concert.
